Baltimore March Mania 2010 Champions
U14 Lanco United (95) won the March Mania Championship this past weekend with a record of 3-1-0. On Saturday, Lanco United tied their first game against the Beadling SC 95ers (PAW), 1-1 and won their second against Montclair United SC Gauchos (NJ) ranked 6th in the Nation, 1-0. Sunday morning they won their first game against the Baltimore Bays Blues (MD), 1-0 to get an opportunity to play in the finals. They won the championship game against Ironbound SC Fury (NJ), 1-0. The relentless offense, who hammered some incredible shots on net, consisted of Leo Van Buskirk, Armin Efendic, Nathan Delgado, Trey Carrier, Kyle Stettenbauer, Thomas Schlarp, Chandler Kline, Evan Addis, Ben Groff and Raiyu Ayanto. The dominant defenders who had three shut outs over the weekend are Kody Eberly, Callen Wendler, Jonah Mohre, Matthew Wright, Gabriel Rowe and goal keeper, Ian Byrnes. The team as a whole displayed an amazing amount of maturity, hard work and team character. These soccer players represent a mixture of our local area schools; Conestoga Valley, Hempfield, Lampeter Strasburg, Manheim Twp, Penn Manor, School District of Lancaster, Warwick, Cedar Cliff, Redland and Elizabethtown. Congratulations to all!
